Let us host your event! We provide meeting space, overnight accommodations, and day programming for groups of various sizes, along with delicious food service for any occasion. Congregations from various denominations, businesses, scouts groups, and other groups use the facilities for their own events. Businesses, like HGTV, church leaders, non-profit organizations, and teacher in-service groups also have used our low challenge and high ropes course as a team building experiences. We can customize an experience to fit the goals and needs of your group. Whatever the occasion, a visit to the John Knox Center provides a natural setting for people to get away from the distractions of everyday life and experience a time of rest and fellowship. We offer bed space for up to 144 guests - all beds are twin bunk beds but many can be lowered to create more bottom bunks. Don't forget to pack your linens as they are only provided for limited bed spaces for select events and for an additional fee. Day use activities are an option and campsites are available on Second Peninsula. Units A, B, & C each house up to 40 participants in 5 cabins. The Dorm houses 24 participants in 6 rooms with bathrooms in each room and is handicapped accessible. There is a common area with 3 bedrooms at each end. All cabins have heat and A/C. Cabins A 1-5 are rustic with a lodge nearby providing restrooms with showers and a small meeting area. Cabins B 1-5 have two bathrooms each and are handicapped accessible. Cabins C 1-3 have been upgraded and have designated restrooms with showers in the nearby dorm. Cabins C 4-5 have two bathrooms each. Our newly renovated B Lodge is ideal for meetings and gatherings of up to 60 with tables & chairs. Abel Lodge is ideal for meetings and small get-togethers with couches, tables, and chairs. The larger room holds 40-45 participants, depending on setup, while the smaller room holds 20. Both lodges have a hospitality kitchen area for preparing snacks. Groups over 60 meet in the dining hall or pavilion. The open-air pavilion has a stage, volleyball net and 4 basketball goals with limitless options for activities. Family Camp at the John Knox Center is one of the best ways to bring your church family closer together. Spend a weekend lounging by the lake, singing songs around a blazing campfire, cookouts at the waterfront, nightly worship services on top of Vesper Hill with the sunset in the background, and much more.
