Our facilities are available for retreats, meetings, company workshops, and private gatherings.
We provide meeting space for groups of various sizes, along with delicious food service for most any occassion. Many individual churches from various denominations and other groups use the facilities for their own events. This is the ideal place for Church Officer Training, Confirmation Classes, Couples and Singles Retreats, Youth Group trips, Family Reunions and Sewing Retreats are just a few of the possibilities.
Companies and businesses, like HGTV, also use our challenge and ropes course as a teambuilding and communications workshop.
Whatever the occasion, a visit to the John Knox Center provides a natural setting for people to get away from the distractions of everyday life and experience a time of rest and fellowship.
The Center has bed space for up to 144 participants - all beds are bunkbeds (pillows and linens are not provided). Day use activities are an option and campsites are available on Second Peninsula. Units A, B, & C house up to 40 participants in 5 cabins. Units A & B are heated and have a lodge providing restrooms and showers. Unit C has heat and a/c - cabins C4-5 have bathrooms. There are restrooms w/showers in the dorm for cabins C1-3. The dorm houses 24 participants in 6 rooms with bathrooms, and is handicapped accessible. There is a common area with 3 bedrooms at each end.
Jim Abel Lodge is ideal for meetings and small get-togethers. The larger room holds approximately 40-50 participants while the smaller room holds 20-25. Groups over 50 meet in the dining hall.
The open-air pavilion has a stage, a volleyball net and 4 basketball goals.
Family style meals are prepared by our excellent kitchen staff.
