Workshops
Presbyterian 101
How are we as
the Presbyterian Church different from other Churches? How does our
Church government work? What is a Session, a Presbytery, a Synod and what
in Heavens name is a General Assembly? (Rev. Carl Schlich)
Faith Journey At our baptism we
begin a journey of faith. Along the way there are often more questions than
answers. Who is Jesus to me? Where is the Holy Spirit? If God is good, why is
there so much bad? Let's walk this pathway together and see what we discover. (Rev.
Miki Vanderbilt)
Ropes Course
Fun and learning for youth and adults! Participants will be in groups of 10-15 as they strengthen group bonds through common experiences. In these "challenge by choice" activities, youth and adults will work together to overcome obstacles that are both physically and mentally challenging by using group problem solving, team work, and communication skills. Participants will also have the opportunity to build trust, harnessed in and swinging through the trees on our High Ropes course. Our newest ropes course element, "The Flying Squirrel" will give participants a chance to literally lift each other up and support those in their group. Please feel free to contact Bri Payne at the John Knox Center with any ropes course questions. (865) 376-2236. (John Knox Center Staff)
